Bath Styled Shoot: Bath Wedding Photography

So anyone that follows me on Twitter or Facebook knows how important I think it is to document your day to day life in photographs particularly to photograph people that mean a lot to you, on those special occasions that really matter. Weddings are a prefect opportunity to do just that, to photograph not only the bride and groom but all of their dearest friends and family who they have invited to share in such a momentous event.

That is why I treasure the photographs I have of myself and my family from such important days. I am fortunate enough to have a large extended family so there have always been lots of wedding and special parties to document and I have some crazy cute nieces and nephews that I love to take photographs of too.

But I don’t often get photographs of me and my family together. I always seem to be on the wrong side of the lens! That is why when I saw this photograph of myself taken by the glorious Joseph Yarrow at my big brother Rowan’s wedding it near enough reduced me to tears. In this one photograph Joe encapsulated all of the many emotions I was feeling and I will treasure this photograph forever.

It has been two years since this photograph was taken and two years of marriage bliss for my brother and his beautiful wife Faye.

So one sunny Sunday afternoon we decided to a little styled shoot as a way of celebrating their second anniversary. This is what some people call a ‘Rock the Dress’ shoot or other call a ‘Trash the Dress’ shoot :) Neither of those titles really explain what happens in these sessions so I’ll explain a little now.

It is simply a styled shoot in which a married couple decide to get back in their wedding gear in a location of their choosing and have a portrait session. The beauty of these sessions is that you don’t have worry about timing which is usually quite restrictive on your wedding day. You can take as long as you like and pose away in a beautiful and romantic location of your choice!

Rowan and Faye chose a country style theme so we drove out of Bristol toward Bath and surrounded ourselves in luscious fields and whimsical wild flowers!

Enough words now! Please enjoy these photographs and feel free to add any comments you have at the end.

Pretty lady…

I really hope you enjoyed looking through these photographs.

If you would like to schedule a ‘rock the dress’ shoot or just a regular old portrait session please feel free to call or email me. And keep up to date with the blog for more session like these. I look forward to hearing what you think of these.

Until next time x
